Hope your mothers day was wonderful!!!!

Mine was great!!!! Lar and the boys took me to the Rose Bowl!!!! My favorite thing to do....hunt for treasures...Jackson and I standing by the front entrance...missing Graydon who had to run back to get his money from the motor home (the only way to travel the three hour drive)! Love that my boys actually enjoy looking for cool old stuff. Graydon started to price "lawn nobes" in honor of our new landscaping that goes in on the 20th!!!!! He is rethinking this after he priced his first one and the woman told him $225.00, the look on his face was priceless!!! He says one day he will find one he can afford!!!!! Love that!!!!!
After the Rose Bowl we had a great Italian lunch in Old Town Pasedena. In honor of my cupcake sweet tooth....my sweet "lawn nobe" searching Graydon gave me a gift of 16 different types....I ate six yesterday....yes, I have promised myself that today will be the day to start running again...so far the running clothes are on....and I have only had two cupcakes....
this is from my Jackson....love the artwork...I will keep this forever!!!!!!!!
The coupon with the scissor...classic!!!! I think he is going to do whatever I want him to do for an entire month? Love it!!!!
Then there is the beautiful orchid my mother gave me for mothers day on Saturday. She drove over (30 min drive) to come to Jackson's baseball game and a visit. She made sure to deliver the orchid before the game so that it didn't wilt in the car. She watered it and had it waiting for me on my counter with a lovely note. So sweet...only she didn't need to water it....it is an artificial orchid....we laughed hysterically. She still doesn't believe it isn't real....

Sherry's 50th

This is my sister Sherry....she just turned 50....and so I hosted a "cupcakes & cocktails" surprise party for her. Isn't she beautiful!!!!! In real life she is only a 1/2 inch taller then me, just wanted to let you know.....

and this is when she saw her best friend Deb, who traveled from OC to be here for the surprise. Your amazing Deb!!!!

a few pics of the house before the guests arrived.... here are the amazing cupcakes from our local cupcake company "Enjoy". They have two locations up here. One is in Solvang and the other is in Los Olivos. Each week the owner, Amber, has a new cupcake menu....Some of the flavors we had for the party were Chocolate Blackberry Syrah, Chocolate Vanilla Doughnut, Banana Cream Pie, Ginger Blood Orange Chardonnay, Coconut Lime....YUMMY!

getting everything in place.....

time for lighting....so important!!!! Fire, candles....love....can you see my wine glass by the fireplace. Can not tell you how many times I set it down and walked away only to wonder where I left it. I found it this time after taking this picture...."Oh, there it is!"

even though I knew it was a bit cold to be outside, I wanted to have this fireplace lite so that we could see it from inside. Cozy blankets and pillows on the chaise lounges, just in case someone wanted to view the stars.....

and here we are... me with Deb and my sister...

Our oldest son turned 14 on Sunday, and we had lots of friends & family help wish him a great day.
Can't believe he will be going into High School next year.

Just seems like yesterday that I was dropping him off for his first day in Kindergarten.

8th Grade Historic Tour

This is my oldest son Graydon's 8th grade class & this is a picture of them getting ready to board a plane in the LAX for Virginia to begin their much anticipated Historic Tour.
unfortunately, the trip began on Feb 6th, right when the 2010 Blizzard was hitting Virginia, DC & NYC...all of which were destinations for this trip....so, needless to say....there were a few detours. Chicago, for two days, was the first of many...the theme of this trip was "Flexibility".
This cute mom, Ann, was dancing along with the underground entertainment while we waited for the L train in Chicago.....we were headed to the Shedd Aquarium & then for some yummy deep dish pizza....
after two, unplanned, days in Chicago, mind you, without our luggage, we made it to Virginia. The weather was cold, but manageable. We enjoyed the snow because we don't get this in our part of California...

We toured Virginia, DC & NYC on this bus....which was great. Super comfy, clean and a great driver.
This is Williamsburg, VA. Amazing!!!!
The kids in front of the Williamsburg courthouse...loved all the great info the docents gave us...the next day we went to Jamestown, then off to DC...

Graydon & I in DC with the Capitol behind us...trust me...he is a great boy...never once complained that I embarrassed him with my hat...I think he is used to me....
the class with the White House behind them....this is a great group of kids...their parents are great too! We went to several memorials, soooooo heart wrenching.....and although we missed a ton of sights that we were suppose to see, we did get to some of the great museums in the Smithsonian that were amazing!!!!! I definitely want to return.

Finally, we made it to NYC. We went to Ground Zero, Empire State Building, Carnegie Hall, Fifth Ave, The Plaza, FAO S., and lots of other downtown Manhattan goodies. We also took in "Lion King".
We stopped by the Saint Peter's Church on 5th Avenue and lite a candle for Grandma Rose who was my dear sweet mother-in-law. She was a beautiful woman who the boys never really got to know.
Upon our return....it was back to sports, school......the usual, there is Graydon, taking a shot! As for me, too bad I brought some bad germs home...I have been sick and pretty much laying in bed for two weeks now!!! Yesterday, I finally broke down & went to the Doc & got a Zpac!!!! I can't wait to get back to my regular routine!!!!!

Girl's night out!!!!

A girl's night out to celebrate our cute girl "Mare's" birthday!!!

We all love this girl a ton!

She is one of those witty girls!!! She can make you laugh all day long...

As you can see...she also has an amazing sense of style...the girl can put an outfit together!!!

in addition to all of that...she is a great mom....and an aunt to my boys...a little Mare story in my life...when my younger son Jackson broke his leg..we came home from the hospital, and Mare had filled our fridge with groceries, put fresh flowers out and had a bunch of stuff for Jackson to keep him busy during his down time...

we all love her to pieces...

Mare, we all wish you a very happy birthday!!!!
